Made professional debut as concert violinist at nine; became performer in motion-picture houses. At fifteen became professional pianist and theater manager and conductor in Chicago theaters. Joined professional staff Chicago music publishing house, specializing in arrangements for large orchestras in motion picture houses. Began conducting and arranging m larger New York theaters 1920; general musical director of Keith-Albee-Orpheum, supervision of musical activities of theater circuit 1926. Became general musical director and radio program director "RKO theater of the Air" 1928. From 1932 active in music department motion picture company as executive.
